If you subscribe to The Edit, we store the email address you give us. That is the only personal detail the site asks for. We also receive standard analytics events from your browser — pages viewed, approximate location, device type — but only after you accept cookies.

We do not buy, sell or rent personal data.

Your email address is used to send The Edit and nothing else. Analytics is used in aggregate to understand which stories are read, so we can commission more of what works.

Analytics and advertising cookies only fire after you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner; until then they are held in a denied state. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the cookie_consent cookie in your browser and reloading the page.

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from every email we send with a single click.
